Cotton Fabrics: Cotton is less likely to irritate the skin or cause overheating. Lightweight cotton clothes will breathe more and not trap heat close to the skin.

Fragrance Free Detergents: Laundry detergent can also affect psoriasis. “I recommend finding unscented detergents and fabric softeners. Sometimes scented products can aggravate psoriasis,” says Bruce Bebo, PhD, director of research for the National Psoriasis Foundation.

Loose Clothing: Tight clothing can worsen the symptoms of psoriasis by rubbing against psoriasis and trapping heat near the flare-up.

Wear Light-Colors: Light colored clothing will reduce the visibility of flakes that may be present because of plaque psoriasis.
